Editorial guidelines

Integrity, independence, and accuracy are the cornerstones of our editorial policy.

Editorial Independence

BitcoinMarkets maintains a strict separation between our editorial and business operations. Our writers and editors have full control over the content they produce. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable reviews, higher ratings, or specific coverage.

Accuracy and Fact-Checking

We are committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information. Every article undergoes a multi-step review process:

  • Research: Writers use primary sources, including whitepapers, official company statements, and regulatory filings.
  • Fact-Checking: A dedicated team verifies data points, dates, and technical details.
  • Expert Review: Complex financial or technical topics are reviewed by subject matter experts.

Sourcing Standards

We prioritize primary sources and verifiable data. We do not rely on rumors or anonymous tips without independent verification. When we cite other publications, we clearly attribute the source.

Our sourcing hierarchy:

  • Official documentation (Whitepapers, SEC filings, GitHub repositories)
  • Direct interviews with project leads or developers
  • Reputable news agencies and data providers (Bloomberg, CoinGecko)

Conflicts of Interest

Transparency is key. All writers and editors are required to disclose any significant holdings in cryptocurrencies they cover.

If a conflict exists that cannot be mitigated, the writer is recused from that specific assignment. We include disclosure statements in articles where relevant context is needed.

Our Review Process

Our product reviews are the result of hands-on testing. We do not write reviews based solely on press releases or website copy.

  • Step 1: Account Creation & KYC – We go through the actual sign-up process.
  • Step 2: Deposit & Withdrawal – We move real funds to test speed and fees.
  • Step 3: Trading & Features – We execute trades and test platform tools.
  • Step 4: Support Test – We contact customer support to gauge responsiveness.

Corrections Policy

If we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently. We will add a correction note to the article indicating what was changed and when. Readers can submit correction requests to editorial@bitcoinmarkets.com.
